We have developed and implemented a new generation method of work in the field of translation. It is built on the use of high-tech webbased management system for translation projects, hosted on our company server. Each client receives their own account with unique user name and password for 24/7 access to the system. We select our translators extremely carefully. Each employee signs a non-disclosure agreement to ensure confidentiality. All projects, tasks, notes and attachments are stored in database on a secure and reliable company server. The high-tech system for project management allows us to automate all procedures that take time – submitting the materials from client to project manager, from project manager to translator, from translator back to project manager, then to editor, back to the project manager and finally to the client. This saves time that allows us to pay more attention to checking and improving the quality of translation, as well as perfecting our system. This means we devote less time to administrative activities accompanying translations and more time to the comfort and convenience of our clients and translators. Selection of translators and improvement of their skills We are constantly looking for professional translators with proven experience. We pay due attention to each application. When choosing translators we give priority to their qualification and experience. We check their education, references, knowledge of new technologies, ability to complete and send the tasks over the Internet. Finally, we test their abilities in the languages. Each translation is checked and estimated in the following categories: grammar, spelling, content, clarity, terminology and consistency. Only the translators who successfully pass our tests are hired by our company. Even after passing these tests, our translators are constantly being checked for the quality of their translations. Each translation is proofread by an editor who checks for the above-mentioned categories. Translators who fail to keep a certain level of quality are excluded from our list of translators, until they are again tested and pass the main tests successfully. Translation Projects Each translation project is managed by a Project manager. He/she works with our clients, coordinating the different stages of the translation process. - manages the orders; Our system enables control over the translation process at each stage. This allows us, should any failure occur, to take the necessary measures and still meet the deadline. Our system also allows each of our clients to follow closely the translation process of each project. By accessing a project, you can see its details – materials, languages, stage of completion, invoice. When the translation is finished, we let you know and then you can download it from your account. Quality Control The quality control comprises three main issues: In order to guarantee the highest quality of translations, editors check for any misunderstandings, terminology adequacy, correct grammar and spelling, consistency, text clarity, sentence structure and translation format as a whole. This editorial process not only improves the quality of translations, but also creates prerequisites for better quality of translations to come. Each editor rates the translator for each of the above-listed categories and this rating is added to the translator’s profile. The project manager, on the other hand, rates both the translator and the editor. This rating is also added to the translator’s profile and is considered when new orders have to be assigned. We use these ratings to estimate which translator and editor to assign to a certain task. Translators with the highest rating have the biggest chance of being selected and the ones with low ratings will not be included in projects. Thus, only the best translators will work for us while the not so good ones will gradually drop out of our system. The third issue of quality control – perfecting the internal translation process – is a long-term process, managed by our team of managers. They use the internal ratings for the quality of translations and customer feedback to define the points where the system needs some improvement. Based on these results, managers design action plans – both short-term (6-month) and long-term (5-year). |
